Mark Your Calendars for Upcoming Legislative Events
By State Rep. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-Northumberland/Snyder)
With the school year winding down and summer being right around the corner, I want to pass along information for some upcoming events and program reminders.
Make sure to mark your calendars for the annual Family Fun Fair, on Thursday, June 2, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., at the Liberty Splashland, 173 Prince St., in Northumberland. Everyone in the 108th District is invited, and there is no admission fee. Free swimming is being provided all day by the Borough of Northumberland, and plenty of vendors will be in attendance from 1-4 p.m. with important information and resources for families. I’m looking forward to another great turnout this year. The full schedule is available on www.LyndaCulver.com.
The Senior Expo is another popular annual event in which many people attend. This year, the expo is being held on Thursday, July 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Shikellamy High School cafeteria, 600 Walnut St., in Sunbury. The Senior Expo is an event focused on providing seniors with information and education about opportunities here in our district and nearby communities which could enhance their quality of life. There will be a variety of area vendors providing information in their areas of expertise as well as free health screenings.
I would also like to encourage everyone to check to see if you have any unclaimed property being held by the Pennsylvania Treasury at www.patreasury.gov/claim/. My staff is available to assist you with this and other state-related services, including filling out Property Tax/Rent Rebate program forms. The deadline to submit applications for that program is June 30. Our office, located at 106 Arch St. in Sunbury, is open Monday-Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The phone number is 570-286-5885, and the toll-free number is 1-800-924-9060. You can also stay up-to-date with the latest state-related news and information by visiting my website, www.LyndaCulver.com, or my legislative Facebook page, www.Facebook.com/RepCulver.
