TRAIL WORK DAY
Saturday, January 16
8:00am - 12:00pm
Please join us on the trail this Saturday, January 16, from 8am to 12pm for the first North Branch Canal Trail work day of 2016. After a major construction push last fall, you'll be amazed by what's already been done. We'll pick up where we left off in the fall, starting just east of the stream crossing near trail mile 2.7. We'll be doing woody vegetation clearing along a section of the trail that has not yet been cleared.
Please wear sturdy boots and work gloves and dress for the weather. Pruners and saws will be the tools of choice for this work day. Be prepared for briars and plenty of ditches to cross.
Please meet at the intersection of River Drive and Mount Zion Road. If you arrive late, just head east (toward Catawissa) from there and listen for the saws.
Donate now to help build the North Branch Canal Trail
Even if you can't volunteer on one of the trail work days, you can still help build the trail. Please consider making a donation to help support our efforts. Online donations are being accepted through the Montour Area Recreation Commission's fund at the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation.
