Throwing Snow on Roadways
AN ORDINANCE REGARDING THE PLACING OR THROWING OF SNOW AND ICE UPON BOROUGH STREETS AND ALLEYS
WHEREAS, the Borough Council (herein “Council”) of Riverside Borough (herein “Borough”), Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, is authorized by the Borough Code for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Section 1202, (4) Nuisances. To prohibit and remove any obstruction or nuisances in the streets of the Borough, (74) To make and adopt ordinances, bylaws, rules, regulations necessary for the proper management, care and control of the Borough and its finances, and the maintenance of peace, good government, safety and welfare of the Borough and its trade, commerce and manufactures.
WHEREAS, the placement of or shoveling of snow and ice upon Borough streets or alleys would jeopardize the health and safety of any vehicle operator or pedestrian.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED AND ORDAINED by the Council of the Borough:
It shall be unlawful for anyone within the Borough of Riverside to place or shovel snow and ice upon the traveled portion of any street or alley.
Any person who shall violate any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine of not more than One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars and costs of such proceedings.
ENACTED AND ORDAINED THIS 6TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER 1994, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF RIVERSIDE, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, IN A LAWFUL DULY ASSEMBLY.
