​Property Tax and Rent Rebate Applications Now Available

Application forms for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program are now available for eligible Pennsylvanians to begin claiming rebates on property taxes or rent paid in 2018. The deadline to apply for a rebate is June 30, 2019.
Applicants may obtain Property Tax/Rent Rebate claim forms (PA-1000) and related information on the Department of Revenue’s website or by calling 1-888-222-9190. It is free to apply for a rebate, and free filing help is available at hundreds of locations across the commonwealth, including at Department of Revenue district offices, local Area Agencies on Aging, and senior community centers. Forms are also available at my district offices where my staff is available to assist you (106 Arch St, Sunbury, Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm and 2 Filbert St, Milton, Monday through Friday 8:30-11:30am).
Rebates will be distributed beginning July 1, as required by law.
The easiest way to check the status of your rebate claim is to visit the dedicated website that the Department of Revenue maintains — “Where’s My PA Property Tax/Rent Rebate?” You will need your social security number, claim year and date of birth to check the status of your claim.

Due to a limited agenda and an impending snow event, the Riverside Borough Council meeting scheduled for Monday, January 21, 2019 has been CANCELLED.  The next Council meeting will be held on Monday, Febraury 4, 2019 at 7:00 pm.

​A request for a variance of the property at 54 Jay Street, Riverside has been requested by Paul Kort.
 
He is seeking to have a variance from Section 285-17 and 285-20 Zoning Regulations, Attachment 3.3 Special Exception Use.

A Zoning Board Hearing will be held regarding this request on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 6:00 pm in the Riverside Municipal Building, 415 Dewart Street, Riverside, PA.

​Merck Cherokee will be tuning/testing the two steam boilers during the weeks of January 21 and February 11. Venting of the steam during the testing process may be heard in the Borough during these times. This testing is required by the Penna Dept of Environmental Protection.

Representative Lynda Schlegel Culver  is sponsoring a Farmers Breakfast, February 22, 2019 at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 3939 Park Road, Selinsgrove, PA  beginning at 9 am!  Learn How Hemp Can Transform Pennsylvania Agriculture. Guest speaker will be Senior Lab Technician Tara Caton, Rodale Institute.  Breakfast will be catered by a group from the church.  Those involved in the agriculture industry throughout the 108th District are invited to attend this event. The first sewer bills for 2019 have been mailed; watch your mail for your blue account card.  Please pay the amount on the left hand side(Pay by Due Date) until Feb 15th.  After 3 pm, 2/15/19, the amount owed is on the right hand side(After Due Date).  Any questions?  Contact the office at 570 275-1751.  Automatic Withdrawl is available for sewer payments; forms are in the office.  A drop slot is available in the office door for after hours payments.
