RIVERSIDE BOROUGH COUNCIL
The Riverside Borough Council met in the Municipal Building, 415 Dewart Street, Riverside on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 7:00pm. Meeting was called to order by Vice President, Peter Fleming. Council members present: Peter Fleming, John Domanski, Ken Gardner and Mike Steimling, Sr. Also present was Secretary Lisa Fritz. Absent: Mayor John LaMotte, Barb Kriner and Delavan Whitenight, Jr Citizens present: Todd Oberdorf Pledge of Allegiance Citizens to be Heard: Todd Oberdorf was present to observe. Old business: John Domanski made a Motion to approve the 9/3/2024 Meeting Minutes. Ken Gardner seconded. All in Favor. Update on the pump station – forms are up and footers were poured. The exterior walls will be poured next. Ken mentioned the Employee Review Form, he would like to add verbiage stating the Street Department reads and understands all Borough Ordinances. John Domanski reminded Council Members that the Street Department Union contract will be coming in October, and there could be some changes. Borough Life: Nothing to report. New Business: Interviews for the Street Department position will be held on Friday, September 27th. Ken Gardner stated that one individual requested $25.00 per hour on his resume’; the advertisement for the position stated the pay would be $20.00 per hour. Ken feels he should not be interviewed. John said he would like to interview all applicants. Motion to Approve: Auctioneer for the sale of the former school property – Ken made a Motion to have Attorney Michetti get proposals from the three (3) Auctioneers that Attorney Michetti mentioned at the September 3rd meeting, plus some additional Auctioneers. John seconded. All in Favor. Council will then review the proposals at a future meeting. John Domanski made a Motion to change the verbiage in the Sewer Notice, Ken seconded. All in Favor. Action Items: Ken Gardner asked the status of the Statewide Tax Recovery contract. Statewide Tax recovery did not respond to an email sent to them. Solicitor Attorney Michetti will send a certified letter to Statewide Tax Recovery. Executive Session: John made a Motion to go into Executive Session to discuss personnel issues. Ken seconded. All in Favor. Ken made a Motion to go back into regular session at 8:21pm, John seconded. All in Favor. John made a Motion to adjourn at 8:22pm. Mike seconded. All in Favor.
