The Montour Area Recreation Commission, Danville Area Community Center (DACC) and the Danville Area School District announce the 2013 Montour County Kids’ Marathon. This event has been created to improve the health and physical fitness of school-aged children in Montour County and the Danville Area School District. Designed to allow children and parents to participate at a pace, intensity level and schedule that works for them, the event will begin on Saturday, June 8th, and conclude on Saturday, August 10th, at the Danville High School stadium. During that time, kids can walk or run the distance of a quarter-marathon, half-marathon or even a full marathon (or more if they can) while tracking their progress. At the end, all participants will come together for the grand finale where we’ll complete the final 1.2 miles of the event together and award medals and other special prizes to everyone who successfully completes the event. Full program details are available at http://montourrec.com/marc/?page_id=5555 and in the attached file. For questions or more information, please contact Bob Stoudt, MARC Director, at (570) 336-2060 or MontrRec@ptd.net.
